Mobile Community Resource Unit

The Mobile Community Resource Unit (MCRU) features local agencies and organizations that offer services related to mental health, addictions, housing and more.

The City of Quinte West is pleased to launch its third strategy from the new Community Safety & Well-being Plan – the Mobile Community Resource Unit (MCRU).

The MCRU will provide free space on a rotational basis to local agencies and organizations that offer services related to mental health, addictions and housing – the priority issues outlined in the Plan.

This pilot project has received funding from the Province of Ontario and Kay Stafford Fund to operate over the next three years. Each year, the unit will be parked in different high need areas of the municipality (determined by the number of police calls related to mental health or substance use).

This year, the MCRU will be located in the parking lot on the north side of the Chamber of Commerce Office and operate between June 6 and Sept. 4, 2022.

Community Cupboard

A Community Cupboard is now available at the Mobile Community Resource Unit.

The cupboard is open 24/7 and will provide an additional food and supply source for our most vulnerable residents. It will operate under the “take what you need, leave what you can” principle.

Donations of healthy snacks, produce, and hygiene products from the community are welcome. Please place donated items directly into the cupboard. For large donations, please email cswb@quintewest.ca.
