Community outdoor rinks are built, maintained and operated by volunteer community groups. Outdoor ice rinks are open to all members of the City to enjoy.
Apply to volunteer to build a rink
Volunteer groups can apply to build a community rink in any park throughout Quinte West, provided it offers a reasonably flat surface, sufficient lighting, access for emergency vehicles and adequate parking. Volunteer groups applying should be prepared to build, operate and maintain the outdoor ice rinks.
Volunteer groups must allow all community members free and equal access to outdoor ice rinks. Volunteer groups are responsible for acquiring the materials needed to build, operate and maintain the ice rink and must be prepared to store all equipment.
Read the community outdoor rink manual and user guide (PDF) before submitting your application. It outlines the:
- Instructions for making an application to the City to establish a community outdoor rink
- Instructions to build and maintain a community outdoor rink on municipal land, including standard operating procedures, training, and health and safety standards.
When you’re ready to submit your application, complete the form below. City staff will be in touch when your application is submitted to advise of next steps.
