Warming and cooling centres provide space for residents to cool down during extreme heat and stay warm during extreme cold.
Warming centre
The City of Quinte West activates an overnight warming centre at Trenton United Church from December 15 until March 31. The warming centre is open nightly from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. during this time. Please note that this is a warming centre for individuals to seek relief from the cold. Beds and meals are not provided.

Cooling centre
The City of Quinte West activates a cooling centre at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena in Trenton when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher OR humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher. When the cooling centre is activated, it is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To see if the cooling centre is open, visit our news page.
