Quinte West Fire/Rescue has issued a total ban on open air burning, including all campfires and brush burning, effective immediately and until further notice.
This burn ban was prompted by ongoing dry conditions in the local area, which increase the potential for the rapid and uncontrollable spread of open air fires. The Fire Services in southern Hastings County and Prince Edward County are also issuing similar restrictions.
Quinte West Fire/Rescue will continue to monitor conditions and notify residents once the ban has been lifted.
