City of Quinte West ratifies collective agreement with Firefighters Association 

Quinte West City Council voted to ratify a three-year agreement with Local 1328 of the International Association of Professional Fire Fighters (IAPFF), the union representing 17 Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services staff. This followed ratification by Local 1328 members on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. 

The three-year agreement spans from Jan. 1, 2024, until Dec. 31, 2026, and includes:

  • A 9.5 per cent wage increase over three years.
  • Increases to dental and mental health benefits.

“We thank everyone at the bargaining table for engaging in productive discussions to achieve a positive outcome for the City and its career firefighters,” said City of Quinte West Chief Administrative Officer David Clazie. “The ratification of this collective agreement demonstrates the City’s efforts to remain a fair and competitive employer.”

“The Quinte West Professional Firefighters Association Local 1328 worked collaboratively with the City of Quinte West throughout the bargaining process,” said Greg King, Senior Fire Prevention Officer and lead negotiator for Local 1328. “We’re pleased to have come to an agreement that recognizes the critical role firefighters play in our community.”
