Shop and taste your way through Centennial Park this summer at the Quinte West Pop-ups, which opened for the season yesterday, June 23. The pop-ups feature a selection of permanent and rotating local vendors and weekend entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy. The pop-ups are open weekly, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday, Aug. 1. Check out the selection of unique vendors and enjoy new upgrades to the pop-ups this year, including additional wooden shed units, a heart selfie spot, and a new paved walkway.
The pop-ups project, now in its second year, is an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to shop local while enjoying the city’s waterfront. Returning vendors will provide familiar favourites, and new pop-up shops and entertainment will offer something new to enjoy throughout the summer.
“We are excited to be back again this year at the pop-ups,” says Amber Thompson, owner of returning mini pop-ups vendor Sweet Burrow Co. “We got some great exposure last year, and as a small business that is usually online-only, people are excited to see our products in person again.”
“I am excited to share my collection of handmade soaps that I have worked hard on at the pop-ups this summer,” says Rebecca Funari, owner of The Soap Salon, a permanent vendor at this year’s pop-ups. “I am looking forward to getting my name out there and having a place to share my passion with the community.”
This opening weekend’s events and entertainment include a bouncy castle on Saturday, and appearances from the Belleville Senators mascot, Belly, DJ Leo, and Pieces Board Game Cafe on Sunday. The BeaverTails food truck will also be on-site all weekend, serving their classic Canadian pastries.
