Quinte West Fire/Rescue announces Holiday Open House

Today Quinte West Fire/Rescue announced the dates for their new Holiday Open House. This is a chance for all Quinte West residents to visit their local fire station, meet some firefighters and learn more about fire prevention while dropping off donations for the food bank. These events will take the place of the annual Santa Tours.

“We know how much everyone loved the Santa Tours, and we did too,” says Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan. “This decision is based on feedback from our insurance carrier and the community, not a result of COVID-19 restrictions. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been involved with the Santa Tour for many years, and now we’re excited to be launching something new across all of our stations, our Holiday Open House.”

The open houses will take place at all Quinte West Fire Stations on the following dates:

Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 8, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Station 1 – 49 Dixon Dr., Trenton
Station 2 – 34 Cameron Ave., Trenton
Station 3 – 58 Aikens Rd., Bayside
Station 4 – 794 Vermilyea Rd. Foxboro
Station 5 – 57 Plant St., Batawa
Station 6 – 1074 County Rd. 5, Wooler
Station 7 – 18 Scott Ave. Frankford

Donations will go to the Care and Share Foodbank, an organization that services the entire City of Quinte West. They are always in need of unopened, non-perishable food items with labels present and undamaged packaging.
