Quinte Trash Bash returns April 22

Help make the Quinte area cleaner during the 23rd annual Quinte Trash Bash on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Belleville, Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Tyendinaga Township.

Quinte Trash Bash is a community-wide spring cleanup that brings people together to clean up roadsides, parks and other public spaces across the Quinte region with the common goal of living in a cleaner and healthier environment.

Each participating community will provide supplies in advance and on the day of the event. More information on where to pick up supply kits and drop off collected garbage is available at quintetrashbash.ca.

“Quinte Trash Bash is a time for our communities to work together to clean up and preserve the natural beauty of our region,” said Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Whether we clean up in groups or as individuals, every piece of litter collected has a positive impact in keeping our outdoor green spaces and public areas healthy and vibrant for all to enjoy.”

“Quinte Trash Bash is a wonderful opportunity for residents to make a real, positive impact on our environment,” said City of Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis. “By picking up litter from parks, sidewalks and other public spaces, you are directly improving the ecosystems in these areas and the overall health of our city. I would like to encourage all Belleville residents to join us in this great event and help make a difference.”

“Prince Edward County has a long history of strong community engagement in maintaining trash-free communities,” said Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson. “The County is happy to once again be hosting, along with our community leaders, the Owen Jones Community clean up. We are excited that through this local event, which honours a tireless volunteer who worked nearly every day to beautify our community, we are able to support larger regional efforts being undertaken as part of the Quinte Trash Bash on April 22, 2023.”

“Trash Bash is an opportunity to give back to your community,” said Tyendinaga Township Mayor Claire Kennelly. “This is a great way to show your commitment to beautifying our place. Challenge your friend groups and/or families to do a number of kilometres of our roads.”
