About Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival

Hops on the Water is an all-ages, one-day, family-friendly festival featuring specialties from local craft breweries, beverage makers and food vendors from the Bay of Quinte region and surrounding area. This year’s festival line-up includes live music and entertainment featuring ‘Moon Sugar’, roaming buskers, interactive games and activities and picture-perfect moments to kick-off the fall season. The event will take place rain or shine.

Quinte West’s Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival was crowned one of the Top 100 festivals in Ontario by Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) for the first time in 2022.

The Top 100 festivals award recognizes Hops on the Water for its excellence in creativity, community engagement and overall event experience. With this award, Hops on the Water is proud to be acknowledged among some of the province’s most widely recognized events.

Quinte West’s Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival 

Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival (the “Event”) is an all-ages, one-day, family-friendly festival featuring specialties from local craft breweries, beverage makers and food vendors from the Bay of Quinte region and surrounding area. This year’s festival line-up includes live music and entertainment, roaming buskers, interactive games and activities and picture-perfect moments to kick-off the fall season. The event will take place rain or shine.

Event terms and conditions

All Event tickets, wristbands, passes, permissions, authorizations and entry methods (whether physical or digital) (collectively, “Tickets”) are subject to these Terms. By accepting possession or by using any Ticket or by entering the Event, the Attendee agrees to all Terms and is bound to comply with these Terms. The Event organizer reserves the right, at its discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these Terms at any time. Please check the festival website periodically for changes.

The Attendee understands that the Event shall be presented in accordance with applicable Event policies, venue policies, public health, safety and security policies, including local public health and safety policies, as of the date of such Event and which may change at any time as determined by federal, provincial or local government agencies or organizations, and/or the Event organizer; such requirements may include, without limitation, changes to capacity, attendance procedures and entry requirements, and other protective measures. If the Attendee does not comply with any laws, mandates, health orders or directives, promoter or Event and venue terms, conditions or rules, then the Event producer/promoter or venue operator may refuse admission or require the Attendee to leave the Event and the Attendee will not be entitled to a refund. 

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. No re-entry. Every festival attendee requires a ticket. Kids 12 and under are free with the purchase of any adult ticket. Every kid needs a Kids ticket for entry. Resale or attempted resale of tickets is grounds for cancellation of the ticket.

Lockers and onsite storage is not available. Smoking is permitted in designated area(s) only. 

The Attendee and their belongings may be searched upon entry into the Event, and the Attendee consents to such searches and waives any related claims that might arise against the Event producer and its agent. If the Attendee elects not to consent to such searches, the Attendee may be denied entry into the Event.

Without the express prior written permission of the Event organizer, the Attendee may not bring any of the following items into the Event (or cause any of items to enter the Event): backpacks, weapons of any kind, food and beverage (excluding items for health reasons.), outside alcoholic beverages, coolers and glass containers, drones, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, hoverboards, etc., signs, flags, banners, etc., full face masks, drones, balloons, airhorns, noisemakers, etc., hazardous materials, chemicals, fireworks, explosives, etc., and illegal drugs or substances. The distribution (handout) of unauthorized materials is not allowed.

Actions or comments promoting views and ideas likely to encourage discrimination, contempt or hatred for any person on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, color, citizenship, religion, age, sex, marital status, family status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, political affiliation, receipt of public assistance or level literacy, or damage to property or damage or loss of equipment or materials will not be permitted.

The Event organiser reserves the right to refuse admission to or eject any person, at Event producer’s sole discretion, whose conduct is disorderly, disruptive, or who fails to follow the Event’s rules or directions.

Assumption of Risk. The Attendee understands and agrees that there are certain risks of personal or property injury, illness and/or death associated with attending the Event. Despite these risks, the Attendee voluntarily assumes ALL known and potential risk and danger of injury and/or death from any cause, resulting from, in connection with, or incidental to the Event. By accepting possession or by using any Ticket, the Attendee expressly assumes all risks and dangers arising from or incidental to the Event.

Waiver. The Attendees forever releases, waives, discharges and holds harmless the City of Quinte West (and its affiliates, elected officials, officers, employees and representatives) from all claims, damages, liabilities or judgments arising directly or indirectly from participation in or attendance at the Event.

The following payment methods are accepted at Hops on the Water:
  • Festival tickets – debit or credit only.
  • Beverage tokens – debit or credit only.
  • Food vendors – cash, debit, credit or tokens; check with the individual vendors onsite.
  • Artisan vendors – cash, debit, credit or tokens; check with the individual vendors onsite.

Hops on the Water will take place at the Front Street Farmers’ Market pavilion at 67 Front St., Trenton.

Free parking is available throughout downtown Trenton.

Parking is also available on a first–come, first-served basis at City Hall and the Duncan Mcdonald Memorial Arena.

The Farmers’ Market and the North Chamber parking lots will not be open for public parking.

Festival tickets are sold online and at the gate while supplies last. All tickets are non-refundable.

The event occurs rain or shine and guests are asked to dress accordingly. In case of inclement weather, announcements will be made on site as well as on the City of Quinte West’s Facebook  and Instagram pages.

Yes, Hops on the Water is an all-ages event. To buy alcoholic beverage tokens and drink alcohol, attendees must be of legal drinking age (19+) and must wear a wristband provided onsite.

A festival ticket is required to enter Hops on the Water. All attendees (even kids) must have a ticket. Kids under 12 are free.

Please bring your pre-purchased printed or digital ticket with you to the event. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate while supplies last.

Valid ID is required for attendees that are 19 years or older. Wristbands will be issued to attendees that are 19 years or older.

A brief security and bag check will be conducted at the entrance.

Re-entry will not be permitted if you exit the event. Once you’re in, you’re in!

In the case of an emergency or special circumstance, staff will accommodate re-entry on a case-by-case basis.

  • Alcoholic beverages are distributed by breweries, cideries and specialty beverage makers under the pavilion at the festival.
  • Non-alcoholic beverages are also available from a wide selection of beverage and food vendors onsite.
  • Drink tokens can be purchased individually, or up to a maximum of 10 at a time for $25.
  • Please enjoy responsibly!

Yes, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Please be sure to clean up after your pet, and bring a water dish that you can fill at the water buggy onsite.

Yes, there will be a free water refill station onsite for hydration and to rinse out beverage containers. Reusable water bottles are allowed into the festival but must be empty upon arrival.

Yes, accessible and portable washrooms will be available on site.

A wide range of food offerings will be offered on site by various food trucks and local vendors. While outside food is not allowed, exceptions can be made for those with dietary restrictions.
