Emily Bashall, a singer, songwriter, and recording artist, from Kingston Ontario, fell in love with country music at a young age. After teaching herself how to play her favorite songs on guitar, she began writing her own songs and performing around the local fairs and talent shows. Between classes and studies while attending The University of Ottawa, she sang in the country bars in the Byward Market. In 2016, Emily decided to take her writing skills to Nashville, where she composed her first EP, Up On the Hill. She released her first single and title track, Up on the Hill, to Canadian country radio in the fall of 2016, followed by her first radio tour, venturing out to the Canadian East coast. In 2019, Emily started her next project, aligning herself with multiple Juno and CCMA award winning producer, Mike Little. She released the first single of the project, Breaking Bad Habits to Canadian Country radio in June 2019 followed by a solo radio tour throughout Ontario. In August of 2019, Emily opened for Tanya Tucker at Manitoulin Country Fest and later that year learned she had earned her first #1 at Country Radio, when Breaking Bad Habits was the most played song of 2019 on 103 Great Lakes Country in Little Current, Ontario. In preparation for release of the second single of the project, a ballad, Won’t Say Its Love she planned a 28-day tour across Canada to meet with radio and play shows along the way. Due to unforeseen circumstances when the world shut down in March 2020, after playing only two of the dates, this tour was cancelled. Emily however, decided to continue with the single release shooting her promo photos in the parking lot of her home and using social media tools to do her own promoting. Wont Say Its Love was her best song on streaming platforms to date and charted in the top 100 at Canadian Country radio.
