At a press conference today, the City of Quinte West announced that the 2024 Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup is coming to Centennial Park, October 9-14, 2024 – and you’re invited to come watch the games live for free!
Quinte West was selected by Canada Soccer in early 2021 as the host municipality for the 2024 Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup, part of the largest amateur team sport competition in Canada. The Toyota National Championships in Quinte West will welcome national under-15 youth male and female teams from Canada’s provincial and territorial soccer associations, elite athletes, their family members, friends, local residents and visitors.
This high-profile national sports competition will highlight local soccer talent and showcase Quinte West’s soccer pride. Centennial Park will transform into ‘Soccer Central’ during the Toyota National Championships over Thanksgiving weekend, featuring soccer matches on the park’s 15 natural-turf outdoor soccer fields, including the newly renovated fields, and free community programming and soccer-themed activities.
The City has partnered with the Quinte West Soccer Club, the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board and Volunteer and Information Hastings and Prince Edward to form a local organizing committee (LOC) that has begun planning the championships. The LOC looks to engage more than 250 local volunteers in the delivery of the event over the six days of the soccer competition.
The Toyota National Championships in Quinte West is supported by various partners including Canada Soccer, the Government of Ontario’s Sport Hosting Program, and the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board.
