Quinte West Council will resume the 2024 budget discussion in the New Year

Quinte West Council will continue to review the proposed 2024 budget at a meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8, beginning at 9 a.m.

At the Jan. 8 meeting Council will continue exploring options to address the 9.26% tax levy increase originally proposed.

Council began its review of the 2024 budget during a two-day Special Council meeting held Dec. 6 and 7. A third budget meeting was added and held on Dec. 11 during which Council received individual department presentations and heard requests for funding from external agencies and community groups. 

The upcoming Jan. 8 special budget meeting can be viewed at quintewest.site/LiveCouncil. Quinte West residents are welcome to provide comments or address Council as part of the budget review process. Public input can be submitted in writing to clerk@quintewest.ca for distribution as correspondence to Council. 

Individuals that wish to address Council in-person or virtually at an upcoming Council meeting can attend any of the budget review meetings to speak during the public input period. More information about the  process is available at quintewest.ca.
