Notice of motion

  • 1:44:03 – Quinte West Council approved a notice of motion that calls on Via Rail and the Government of Canada to reinstate a stop in Quinte West for Train 641 to provide affordable and reliable transit access to the Greater Toronto Area

Committee reports, staff reports and approval of accounts

  • 1:47:44 – Council approved a staff report regarding a third-party contract to conduct Short Term Accommodation Address Identifications.
  • 1:49:42 – Council reviewed a staff report regarding the approval of the 2023 City of Quinte West Draft Consolidated Financial Statements as recommended by the Audit & Risk Advisory Committee.
  • 2:09:35 – Council reviewed a report regarding a Land Use Licensing Agreement with the Department of National Defense for a military training exercise on Bata Island.
  • 2:10:55 – Council approved a staff report regarding a Corporate Leasing Policy.
  • 2:15:50 – Council heard public feedback on the minutes of the April 18 Planning Advisory Committee meeting 
  • 2:57:37 – Council approved the license agreements between the City and the 2024 Quinte West Pop-ups vendors.
  • 3:00:07 – Council approved a staff report regarding the recommended improvements and community feedback summary for the Tuckers Corners Multisurface Court.

Correspondence for decision 

  • 3:02:03 – Council supported correspondence from Doug Couture, Board Chairperson, and Jeri-lynn Thomas, Chief Executive Officer for the Quinte West Public Library, requesting Council provide support regarding “Urgent Need for Increased Funding for Public Libraries in Ontario”.

Proclamations

  • 3:04:42 – Council proclaimed May 13 to 20, 2024 as “Falun Dafa Week”.
  • 3:05:26 – Council proclaimed May 16, 2024 as “Global Accessibility Awareness Day” and May 26 to June 1 as “AccessAbility Awareness Week”. 
  • 3:06:02 – Council will review a request from Hastings Prince Edward Community Care for South Hastings to proclaim June, 2024 as “Stroke and Aphasia Awareness Month”.
  • 3:06:57 – Council proclaimed Oct. 9, 2024 as “World PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections) Awareness Day”.
