Quinte West Council agenda highlights for June 5, 2024

The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in person at Quinte West City Hall and virtually at quintewest.site/LiveCouncil.

Presentations and delegations

  • Sean-Michael Stephen, Managing Partner, Watson & Associates Economists Ltd, will speak on the Development Charges Background Study.
  • Teena Macklin, Resident, will present a petition regarding short term rentals.
  • Betty Clost and Rev. Isaac Mundy, Quinte West Warming Centre (Trenton United Church), will express appreciation and to speak to the 2024-2025 Quinte West Warming Centre season.
  • Lorraine O’Quinn, Advocate, will speak to the needs for community support for Diabetics.

  • Council will review a staff report regarding doctor and nurse practitioner incentives.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding OPP contract enhancements.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding the Quinte West O.P.P. Detachment Board (formerly Quinte West Police Service Board).
  • Council will review a staff report for an easement request on Loyalist Parkway.
  • Council will review a request for a Special Occasion Permit from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for the Festival on the Bay Front Street Dance in downtown Trenton.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding an update of the Customer Service Trial and City Hall Renovations.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding debt projections.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding a Development Charge status update
  • Council will review a staff report regarding an updated list of surface treated roads.
  • Council will review a staff report regarding upsizing of the Old Wooler Road sanitary sewer.

Correspondence for decision 

  • Council will review correspondence from the Quinte West Gardens Growing Community regarding a letter requesting City signage.

Proclamations

  • Council will review a request from Lorraine O’Quinn to proclaim August 12-16, 2024 as “Empower Health, Embrace Hope, Diabetic Awareness Week”.
