Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena available for residents without water

Update as of July 20, 2023: The Boil Water Advisory issued by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has been lifted.

Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens Arena is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for Trenton Water Service residents currently affected by the Boil Water Advisory west of the Trent River.

Access to potable water is available at the arena for residents requiring washrooms, showers and refilling small containers from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily until further notice.

Coin-operated water stations are available for small container refilling at the Trenton and Frankford/Batawa water stations. Bulk water services at these locations are not available. 

Bulk water services for bulk haulers are available at the Bayside bulk water station (1 Aikins Rd., Quinte West, ON). 

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has issued a Boil Water Advisory, effective 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, for all Trenton Water Service customers west of the Trent River, until further notice. This advisory is in response to emergency water main repair work being done by the City. 

This advisory affects all Trenton Water Service customers west of the Trent River in Trenton, all Murray Ward customers, and customers in Carrying Place, Prince Edward Estates, Kingfisher Cove, and Carrying Place/Consecon Water Distribution System in Prince Edward County. Refer to the map below to see the affected Quinte West areas.

Customers affected by the Boil Water Advisory are to boil their water before consumption. All water for consumption should be brought to a rapid rolling boil and boiled for 1 minute. Let water cool before consuming.
