About Quinte West Alerts
Quinte West Alerts is the City of Quinte West’s free emergency notification service, powered by Motorola Solutions.
The service provides subscribers with timely alerts and updates about large-scale emergencies and potentially hazardous situations, including severe weather, major closures or outages and community safety notices. Municipal water customers also receive boil water notifications through Quinte West Alerts.
Alerts are delivered by phone, text message and email.
Quinte West Alerts replaces the City’s previous PRISM notification system. Former PRISM subscriber information cannot be automatically transferred to the new system, so everyone must sign up for Quinte West Alerts to receive alerts.
Residents, businesses, organizations and community groups are encouraged to sign up and share Quinte West Alerts with their customers, clients, friends, neighbours and family to help ensure everyone stays informed during local emergencies. Individuals do not need to be Quinte West residents or property owners to subscribe to Quinte West Alerts.
Sign up for Quinte West Alerts
Signing up for Quinte West Alerts is quick, easy, and can be done on any device.
Receive important information during an emergency. Some examples of when you may receive an alert:
- Extreme weather events
- Major transportation disaster
- Significant hazardous materials incident
- Widespread utility/infrastructure failure
- Escalating situations that pose a risk of high impact
- Facility closures or large-scale emergencies.
How It Works
- We monitor: City staff identify a safety hazard, severe weather threat, or critical update.
- We dispatch: An automated alert is issued through the system immediately to residents who have signed up for notifications.
- You receive: Updates arrive via your preferred channels (selected by you in the registration process) via text, automated phone call, or email.
How to sign up:

- Complete the online registration form and click “Submit”.
- You will be redirected to your new Quinte West Alerts account.
- Inside your account, select your preferred notification methods: phone, text and/or email. You can change your selections anytime.
