About the plan

Quinte West has a new Parks and Recreation Master Plan! This plan, aimed at ‘growing a healthy and active community for all’, will guide investments in and decision-making on parks, open spaces and recreation facilities over the next 15 years.

The plan was approved by Quinte West Council on May 7, 2025.

Background

The City, in collaboration with consultants thinc design, Mehak, Kelly & Associates, RFA Planning Consultant Inc., and Oraclepoll Research, began this Parks and Recreation Master Plan in March of 2024. 

The plan was created through an analysis of current and expected community needs, driven by community engagement and consultation, including: 

  • Online surveys
  • Telephone surveys
  • A public open house
  • Partner focus groups and interviews
  • Staff and Council questionnaires
