Quinte Film Alternative presents Mr. Jones at 2 pm and 7 pm. Synopsis: this film is based on the history of a committed pre-WW II English journalist but the parallels with today are stark. Gareth Jones (James Norton) interviewed Hitler, observed his growing power, travelled to Russia and navigated the corruption of Moscow to eventually expose Stalin’s deliberate starvation of millions of Ukrainians. He seemed to see the future more clearly than others, some of whom exploited the opportunities that bloomed in the pre-war darkness.
