Painted Truth : Indigenous Art Show

Large Prints of Local Indigenous Women sharing their truth through art painted directly on their body will be displayed at She’s High On Vibes in Downtown Belleville.

During the viewing donations will be accepted and given to the Language and Cultural Center in Tyendinaga in support of their amazing organization and offerings.

Local Indigenous Artist Melissa Brant will be body painting Women throughout the month of September. Each photo will be powerful and unique.

This project is being completed for free (body painting and printing photos)
by Melissa in hope of giving Indigenous Women a platform to been seen, heard, respected and celebrated while sharing the importance and healing power of art, truth and connection to culture and language.

“If you would like to donate in support of the project, I’m asking people or businesses to sponsor a model for $100. That would give me the ability to hire an Indigenous photographer for their session ($50), as well as offer them an honourarium for their time and energy. ($50).”
