Work in Quinte program connects job seekers and employers

With funding from the Province of Ontario, the Municipalities of Belleville, Brighton and Quinte West, Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC) and Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board (BOQRMB) have partnered to develop the new Work in Quinte program to connect job seekers and employers.

As a part of this initiative, the group has launched a new website that creates a centralized job board for employment opportunities across the Quinte region. Employers from all sectors can register to upload job opportunities, receive applications and search the resume database for people with the right qualifications. Job seekers can view the jobs available, apply to positions directly and upload their resumes to the database.

“We are very excited to launch this collaborative project that will benefit many companies and individuals in the Bay of Quinte Region,” says Linda Lisle manager of economic development and tourism services for Quinte West. “With the current labour shortage and competitive local job market, this initiative will help match employers with job seekers who have the right skills and experience to fill their openings.”

“Employers tell us every day that their biggest challenge is finding workers. This free online tool will help connect job seekers with local employers,” says Karen Poste manager of economic and strategic initiatives for the City of Belleville. “Combined with the Quinte Region Career fairs we host several times a year, our communities provide virtual and in-person opportunities for everyone to find work and the workers they need.”
