Quinte West’s Community Improvement Plan program accepting applications to enhance local businesses

Quinte West’s newly revised Community Improvement Plan (CIP) program is now accepting applications from local businesses for the program’s spring funding round.

The City’s 2025 CIP program will provide $200,000 in matching funding to support the revitalization of Quinte West businesses, and address local priorities such as economic growth, tourism product development, and enhanced quality of life for residents and visitors.

The CIP program provides funding to cover up to 50% of the total cost of eligible projects including building property renovations, new signage, façade improvements, and upper-storey conversions. The newly revised CIP program now also allows local tourism operators to access CIP incentives to enhance their businesses.

CIP funding applications for 2025 will be accepted during two application periods:

  • Spring (Feb. 10 – March 31)
  • Fall (Aug.18 – Sept. 29).

“The City is committed to strengthening the economic future of businesses in Quinte West,” says Linda Lisle, Manager of Economic Development and Tourism. “The newly revised CIP program provides funding opportunities for business owners to enhance their properties, fostering growth, increasing property values, and driving economic development and revitalization throughout our community.”

Between 2008 and 2023 the City’s CIP program granted over $600,000 and supported over 100 business revitalization projects over 15 years.

Local business owners interested in revitalizing their businesses can apply to the 2025 CIP program online. The deadline to apply to the program’s spring funding round is March 31, 2025.
