Quinte West Council Agenda highlights for Sept. 4, 2024

The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, in person at Quinte West City Hall and virtually at quintewest.site/LiveCouncil.

Public meeting 

  • Council will hold a public meeting on the City Water and Wastewater Rate Study. 

Presentations and delegations

  • Dr. David DeGrace, DeGrace Medicine Professional Corporation, will address Mayor Harrison and Council regarding physician tetention.
  • Brandi Hodge, Executive Director of United Way Hastings and Prince Edward, and Lisa Ali, CEO, Canadian Mental Health Hastings Prince Edward, will address Mayor Harrison and Council to provide an update regarding the Community Plan for Integrated Addictions Care
  • Jennifer Tewathahá:kwa Maracle, Executive Director, Indigenous Initiatives and Reconciliation, Tsi Titewaya’tarό:roks Indigenous Centre, Loyalist College, will address Mayor Harrison and Council to provide an update regarding the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation Education Program. 

Committee reports, staff reports, and approval of accounts

  • Council will review a staff report regarding Housing Community Improvement Plan parameters. 
  • Council will review a staff report regarding the Naming of Corporate Assets Policy update. 
  • Council will review a staff report regarding an application to delete a subdivision agreement. 
  • Council will review a staff report regarding the Water and Wastewater Rate Study update. 
  • Council will review a staff report regarding the Housing Accelerator Fund 2 – Housing Action Plan. 

Proclamations

  • Council will review a request from the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, to proclaim Sept. 25, 2024, as “Franco-Ontarian Day.” 
  • Council will review a request from Home Children Canada, to proclaim Sept. 28, 2024, as “National British Home Child Day.”
  • Council will review a request from Heather Wannamaker, Chair, Quinte West Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee, to proclaim Sept. 30, 2024, as “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.”
  • Council will review a request from Louise Warr, Chapter Chair CARP Greater Bay of Quinte Area Chapter 39, to proclaim Oct. 1, 2024, as “National Seniors Day.”
