Quinte West Council agenda highlights for Jan. 25, 2023

The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in person at Quinte West City Hall and virtually at quintewest.site/LiveCouncil.

Presentations

  • Mayor Harrison on behalf of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simmon, Governor General of Canada, will present the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers to distinguished Quinte West resident Robert John Findlay.

Delegations

  • Stacey Love-Jolicoeur, Bay of Quinte Pride, Transforum, Saga-lgbtq Education and Support Services of Canada Inc., and Lexie Haggarty, Bay of Quinte Pride Committee Member, will address Mayor Harrison and Council regarding rainbow crosswalks.

Committee reports, staff reports and approval of accounts

  • Council will review a staff report regarding a workplace health and safety policy.

Bylaws

  • Council will review a bylaw to declare a Ward 2 Councillor seat vacant.

Proclamations

  • Council will review a request from Lee Simpson, Consumer Support Specialist, Canadian Helen Keller Centre/National Deafblind Awareness Month, requesting Council proclaim June 2023 as “National Deafblind Awareness Month.”
