Quinte West City Council appointed Karen Sharpe as Councillor for Ward 2 – Sidney at its meeting on February 8.
Following the passing of former Councillor Terry Cassidy earlier this year, Council declared the Ward 2 – Sidney council seat vacant on January 25.
Council’s Ward 2 – Sidney seat appointment follows the Municipal Act that outlines how Council can fill vacancies.
Karen Sharpe officially takes office today, Monday, February 13, and will sit for the remaining term of council through November 14, 2026.
