Painted Muskoka chairs on display throughout Quinte West

Fresh colour and creativity have been added to Quinte West parks and public spaces with the launch of the City’s ‘I HEART Quinte West’ painted Muskoka chair project.

‘I HEART Quinte West’ features 46 decorative Muskoka chairs painted by local residents, families, community members and artists with designs that celebrate the Quinte West community.

This new public art exhibit is part of the City’s line-up of 25th anniversary celebrations, showcasing Quinte West’s community, multiculturalism, diversity and heritage throughout 2023.

Chairs have been installed in city parks and public spaces across all four Quinte West wards, including Batawa Natural Playground, Bain Park, Centennial Park, Compass Court, Trent Port Marina, Frankford Tourist Park, Old Sidney Town Hall Park in Wallbridge, Norm Mallory Park and the Ball Park in Wooler, among others.

“The painted Muskoka chairs project is a beautiful new arts initiative that engages both residents and visitors”, says Mayor Jim Harrison. “We invite everyone to spend time exploring our vibrant community and to ‘pull up a chair’ and enjoy the outdoors in Quinte West this summer.”
