Quinte West is preparing for changes to its waste management program as the municipality joins communities throughout Ontario in the transition to a new province-wide recycling program.
Beginning in July, a new recycling contractor and updated curbside waste collection schedule are coming to Quinte West.
- July 18, 2025 – Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) will begin to manage Quinte West’s recycling program. CMO has contracted Environmental 360 Solutions (E360S) to provide curbside recycling collection in Quinte West. Different trucks will begin to collect recycling.
- July 22, 2025 – A new residential curbside waste collection schedule comes into effect for Quinte West. Residents are encouraged to search for their address on the interactive, online map to find their updated waste collection date. This new curbside collection schedule will apply to household garbage, organics and recycling.
There are no changes to the list of recyclable materials and all waste should continue to be curbside by 7 a.m. on collection day.
Businesses in downtown Trenton and Frankford will continue to receive waste collection. Information on any changes to the commercial pick-up collection schedule will be shared later this spring.

About the new provincial blue box program
The City of Quinte West’s new blue box program is part of the three-year, province-wide shift to extended producer responsibility (EPR). The Government of Ontario is transferring the responsibility of recycling from municipalities to producers. This means producers – those who create and market products – will be responsible for the entire life cycle of their products and product packaging. Learn more at circularmaterials.ca.
