New farmers’ market boat dock in downtown Trenton

The City of Quinte West has installed a new day dock along the Trent River at the Front Street Farmers’ Market for easy access to the market and downtown Trenton.

Located at 67 Front St., Trenton, the new Candock day dock is 33 feet x 8 feet, parallel to the river bank. The low modular dock accommodates both motorboats and paddle crafts.

“This new dock helps to further develop the city’s waterfront, along which, for the last two decades we’ve worked hard to enhance opportunities for water tourism,” says Quinte West Councillor and Chair of the Public Works and Environmental Services Committee, Allan DeWitt. “A project like this not only enhances our waterfront but also supports the farmers’ market, which includes our farmers, artisans and musicians. It also helps the businesses in our downtown core as people can walk, cycle, drive or come by boat.”

“We’re happy to support the Front Street Farmers’ Market and our downtown businesses with the addition of a new dock,” says Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Supporting our farmers is incredibly important and I hope this additional dock with easy access to downtown brings in more visitors and business to our vendors and community.”
