Art on the Trent celebrates young artists in Quinte West

The City of Quinte West has partnered with Community Living Quinte West and local art gallery these 4 walls to exhibit “A Beacon of Unity,” an outdoor public art display celebrating young artists in the Quinte West community.

The “A Beacon of Unity” exhibit showcases photographs of 16 art pieces created by Quinte West youth artists from kindergarten to grade 12 who participated in the these 4 walls and Community Living Quinte West Kids Inclusion Art program earlier this year. The Kids Inclusion Art program involved over 470 young artists of all abilities from 13 schools in Quinte West elementary and high schools, who created individual 12×12” (144 square foot) art panels celebrating unity, diversity and inclusion. The full collection of art panels were displayed as part of the Kids Inclusion Art Show at these 4 walls in June 2024.

“There are so many pressures on kids these days. Offering youth the hands-on experience of the Kids Inclusion Art program is intended to provide an outlet for creativity, boost their self-esteem, and create a sense of belonging in our community,” says these 4 walls owner Brandy Calvert Ringelmann. “I’m pleased with the impact the program has had on the kids who participated and appreciate the support received from the City of Quinte West and Community Living Quinte West.”

“A Beacon of Unity” exhibit is the next installation in the City’s ‘Art on the Trent’ outdoor public art program, with art on display in RiverFront Square, Centennial Park, and Frankford Tourist Park. The exhibit will be on display until Spring 2025.

“The City of Quinte West is proud to have sponsored the Kids Inclusion Art program and be hosting a selection of the art pieces as part of the City’s ‘Art on the Trent’ outdoor public art program. The “A Beacon of Unity” is a wonderful opportunity for young Quinte West artists to share their work with the community,” says Jennifer Rushlow, Tourism Development Officer. “We are proud to support and celebrate the creativity and passion of our youth and appreciate the businesses that brought this vision to life.”
